Abstract:
Mobile
web applications are platforms that enable creation, sharing, and visualisation
of climate change and land information amongst stakeholders. This report provides
a blueprint for the design of such a tool intended for rural mountain
communities – particularly those in the Dolakha district of Nepal. The design
is based upon requirements developed from stakeholder needs and defines key
users, use cases, data needs, application functions, and technology layers.
Overall, the system aims to support simple and easy access, visualisation, and
querying of the information for the relevant stakeholders, individuals, communities.
The report also details how the system is to be developed using existing free
and open source technology. Results from tests of user experience and how the
system adheres to the requirements are also presented.
